Our Wines
A passion for premium stylistic wines has been the inspiration for Mills Reef since our first vintage in 1989.
Produced from superior grapes grown in the Hawkes Bay region, they are hand crafted by our winemaking team in Tauranga, New Zealand.
Our wines are produced under three ranges, each with their own winemaking philosophy and stylistic bent:
- Mills Reef wines are made in a soft rounded style with an emphasis on natural fruit character and earlier approachability, for everyday enjoyment.
- Reserve wines are from low-yielding vines producing superior grapes showing intense fruit flavours and pure varietal expression. The winemaking philosophy is to achieve “balance” of flavour, structure and texture. These are discerning wines.
- Elspeth represents our finest wines of elite status, produced only when the vintage and hand-picked fruit are of exceptional quality. The winemaking is exclusively hands-on with a wine style emphasis on power and longevity. They are the ultimate and will flourish with cellaring for many years.
