Tasting Note: The grapes for this distinguished wine were grown in the renowned Gimblett Gravels appellation of Hawkes Bay, handpicked and aged in quality French oak barriques for twelve months.
This notably dark and fragrant Merlot is rich and complex with brambly, plummy aromas accompanied by a bouquet of leather, cigar box, licquorice and hints of spice. On the palate are rich fruity flavours of cherries and plums with leathery, coffee, and dark chocolate accents. Intergrated ripe supple tannins give this wine power, length and a soft dry finish. It has the depth and structure to mature gracefully for many years.
