Tasting Note: The Grapes for this wine were sourced from two vineyards west of Hastings - Plateau Vineyard bordering the Gimblett Gravels and Mere Road Vineyard in the heart of the Gimblett Gravels. The fruit was destemmed and whole-berry fermented in tank to enhance fruit flavour and tannin extraction, then seasoned in quality French Oak Barriques for nine months, developing complexity and texture.
This classic Hawke's Bay Syrah is attractively scented, with intense black pepper varietal aromas. A satisfyingly dark, rich wine with blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours, oak complexity and firm tannins, it is already drinking well and will reward cellaring
