Reserve Viognier 2007
Vintage: 2007 Awards: SILVER MEDAL - Hawkes Bay Mercedes Benz Awards 2007 Tasting Note: This single-vineyard wine was produced from premium grapes grown in our Plateau Vineyard, situated in the renowned Gimblett Gravels of Hawkes Bay. The grapes were harvested at ideal ripeness on 5th of April 2007 at 24.6°Brix and received into the winery in excellent condition. The juice was 100% barrel fermented in older French oak barriques and aged on lees for two and a half months, for subtle oak seasoning and enhanced complexity to complement the wine's vibrant fruit characters. Bottling took place on 12th of July 2007. This rich mouthfilling wine offers concentrated flavours of dried apricots, peaches and rock melon, delicately laced with oak complexity. The palate is smooth and weighty, with refreshing acidity and length leading to a soft dry finish. | |
